The term screening in the materials handling context normally describes the segregation of materials by size.  In the sand and gravel situation this normally entails separating the sand fraction/s from the stone.  The stones are also normally further segregated into suitable sizes for use in construction and road building.

The name Finlay is synonymous with screening equipment.  The Finlay screens are traditionally used to segregate sands and aggregates in the quarry and sand & gravel industries. The 3-way split Finlay range provide extra mobility with on-board stockpiling conveyors. In recent years the addition of wheels and crawler tracks has ensured even greater on site mobility.

Screening is also necessary when quarry stone has been crushed.  In this situation it is normal to remove the dust fraction and to segregate the crushed stone into finished products.

In more recent years the reprocessing of stone products, which have become heavily contaminated with clay, has become possible with availability of equipment such as the Finlay Trommels.  Where these materials are particularly difficult the ALLU Bucket can be used to pre-process the material.

Particle size separation is also an integral part of the recycling industry.

MH Screening Services
provide all the necessary equipment to enable successful segregation of materials throughout all of these industries.
